The Word of God was continuously read in Northern Ireland beginning to end: more that 300 people involved, 3 days and a half of proclamation and accessible Scripture for ALL!
Starting at 5 o’clock on Wednesday 17 June, four churches in Northern Ireland united efforts to bring the Bible to their community. The event was held at Ballynahinch Baptist Church, and finished in the same venue on the 21 June with a combined evening service on Sunday with all the Churches that were involved and a massive cake in the shape of a Bible for supper afterwards!
The event was a great blessing and people enjoyed being part of this amazing challenge. We'll be able to share testimonies and photographs soon, so watch this space: we'll be adding them as they come in!
A special anniversary
One lady had a Bible that had been given to her years ago; she did not use that particular Bible often. A month or so ago, she noticed that the inscription in the Bible said it was presented to her 50 years ago this month. She thought that was quite significant and worth “celebrating” but didn’t know how. Then she saw an article in the paper about The Great Bible Read and thought that was a fitting way to celebrate that 50 years on, she is still reading her Bible regularly.
She was thrilled to be taking part in the Great Bible Read and very happy to have such a special way to thank God for the time she has been able to read his word.
